What a pleasure to meet you this morning. I'm glad you were able to make the long drive up this way to see our new facility, meet some of the staff, and of course deliver the gorgeous quilts! (I was quietly wishing my day wasn't full of reports & paperwork so I could delight in the handiwork of your dedicated & caring members by checking out each and every quilt...hmm maybe I'm staying even later than planned this evening.
There are so many types of people who will benefit from the gift of your quilts through Mountain Resource Center - women suffering through domestic violence situations will be comforted
- families having financial difficulties will be able to snuggle up together
- parents unable to provide children with a birthday gift can now cuddle & play "I spy"
- families suffering through disasters, life changes and other losses will have a gift telling them someone cares
- new mothers receive a basket of items for their babies which will now include a quilt
from community members. Isn't it amazing how big our community really is?
I did 'spy' a lovely quilt that now drapes on the chair in the corner of my office. I hope it will be okay - when giving building tours to volunteers, funders and other neighbors, I plan to share that the Firehouse Quilters of Highlands Ranch are more of our 'neighbors helping neighbors.'
Thanks again for your extra effort in getting the quilts to us. It was truly my pleasure to meet you and hope you will share our gratitude with all your quilters!
Marvena Baker-Shriver, Dir of Operations.
Thank You Cards
From Mountain Resource Center
in Conifer:
The quilts have been so well received - 3 are scattered throughout staff offices to be visible when we do building tours (my office has one of course). So many community members have delighted in receiving them that we are down to one bag out of the many you brought.
Thank you for being part of our "neighbors helping neighbors"
in such a comforting way.
