2010 Sweetheart Dance for HRCA Receives Stuffed Animals

Each year, we help supply stuffed animals

for the HRCA Sweetheart Dance

for mentally handicapped young adults.

This year, we got a lot of help from

two young girls that wanted their

unused ‘babies’ to go to a good cause.

See our two snuggle quilts with valentine hearts

on them behind Susan H, who was in charge of collecting and delivering the items to

Southridge Rec Center.

Our quilts are a big part of the door prizes at the Sweetheart Dance too.

Summer (HRCA) Angelyn & Benyse Merrill  and Susan Howarth (FHQ).

They not only donated enough to finish our quota for door prizes at the dance but also gave FHQ two bags of mini beanie babies to match up with small quilts that we’ll sell at the quilt show in our FHQ Boutique this year.

Altogether, the girls had 209 stuffed animals & donated to several different groups.

FHQ Volunteers Make 2007 Sweetheart Quilt

for Special Needs Dance in HR

Several volunteers participated in putting this Sweetheart Quilt together so we could donate it to HRCA for their grand prize this year at the Sweetheart Dance.

As usual, everything is done at the last minute but we were all so proud of this beautiful Sweetheart Quilt we made and donated to HRCA for the grand prize at the Special Needs Sweetheart Dance in February, 2007.

Several of us also volunteered to help work at the dance itself and handed out some great stuffed animals.

Aren’t they cute?

All of the prizes really went over great but the little gal that won our quilt was showing it off all the way out the building.

It just does your heart good, doesn’t it?

(Thanks to everyone that had a hand in making this such a special event.)
