Shiloh House December 2010 Firehouse Quilts delivered 211 snuggle quilts to Rev. Martino the week before Christmas to add to the gifts for the children in their facilities. |
I enjoyed being a part of the quilt delivery to Shiloh House. I was impressed with the various facilities described, which seem to appropriately accommodate the various ages and individual needs of the children served. An atmosphere of warmth and caring was evident. Norma L |
I think the thing that hit me the most was how sad it is that we need an organization like this to house children that have been removed from an abusive situation, but thank God there is such an organization! It sounds as if they can really use all the quilts we took to them. What a true feeling of Christmas!! Thanks again for letting me be a part of it. Judy R |
Thank you for letting us know about this volunteer opportunity! I got your email around 6p and just got home from wrapping presents with them! What a great organization! Julie A |
Several FHQ volunteers were able to drop in and help wrap the Christmas gifts so they were all set for Thursday drop-off at their different facilities. Thank you for helping others at such short notice. Several of you said that you’d like to do this as an extra community project next year as a group instead of just individually dropping in whenever we have time. I told Rev Martino we’d need to know in advance so we could be of more help and he’s thrilled that he’ll have some elves to depend on during this busy time of year. Dusty D |
