Thursday, April 25, we delivered 25 snuggle quilts to the Englewood Fire Department and Victim Advocate office. What wonderful people to work with! They were thrilled to receive them and can’t wait to put them into use. Firehouse Quilts asks that the quilts be given to children they see on their emergency runs. It truly takes their minds off what is going on and calms them down so treatment and transport is much easier.

2013 Englwd FD patch

Emergency organizations are never charged when they receive our quilts, we simply donate the quilts to them. In exchange, we do ask for one of their embroidered sleeve patches so we can nicely keep track of the different districts to which we have donated quilts. Here’s a picture of the Englewood Fire Dept. patch. Each FD has different symbols on their patch; it’s interesting to see all the different designs.
