Who We Are

Firehouse Quilts is a non-profit group of volunteers that make and donate quilts to Colorado fire departments, ambulance companies, Denver Health Medical Center, victim advocate offices, county social and human service agencies and Douglas County Women’s Crisis Center to be given in time of crisis.  Any style or patterns can be used in the donated quilts.

Each year we donate over 1,000 items, 90% are snuggle quilts for children that have been in an automobile accident, a house fire or even domestic violence in their home.  Our quilts help to calm these children and they keep the quilt with them for years to come.

Volunteers from Firehouse Quilts meet for two working Sew Days a month at Above & Beyond Sewing & Vacuum, 10201 W. Bowles Avenue, Littleton, Colorado on the first Thursday (1p – 6p) and third Wednesday, (11a-5p).  Our Sew Days are ‘work’ days; you must bring your own sewing machine and be familiar enough with it to sew on your own.

Due to the pandemic, sew days have been suspended until further notice.
Please sign up for announcement to be notified of changes.

Our snuggle quilts are available to any fire department in Colorado. To request quilts for your organization or for information about donating your time, money or fabric, contact us via email.
