CASA House Receives Quilts

The Denver CASA House received 50 quilts on October 24th.  The donated quilts will be given to children and their siblings on National Adoption Day which is November 17th.  Some of the children who are finding their “forever” homes have waited to do so for over four years.  They are in foster homes because of neglect or abuse and are assigned a CASA representative.  The Court Appointed Special Advocates learn the wishes of the children and then speak for them in court as to what they would like for their lives.  The advocates help them with homework, take them on special outings, and have some relaxing times at the Denver CASA house watching movies, cooking, reading, and learning about art.  The living room was full of pumpkins to be carved on the day we made the delivery.  Firehouse Quilts members Mary, Bonnie, Christie and Jacque made the delivery to CASA members Jackie, Audrey, Carly, and Humza.
