Quilt Delivery to Father Ed Judy’s House

Last week, 9 quilts were delivered to Father Ed Judy’s House by Barbara M.  Phoua and Kari were on hand to receive the very welcome quilts.

As a ministry of Catholic Charities, the Father Ed Judy House serves single women with children and helps them move from homelessness to stability.  Most of the women who are served are survivors of domestic violence who have found safety but remain homeless.  The  Father Ed Judy House offers semi-transitional housing for up to nine families in a small, group home-like setting.  Families can stay as long as they need to find stable housing.

Fr. Ed Judy House offers voluntary post-shelter services that helps families remain stable and prevent chronic family homelessness; relationships are built, not just case files.  The shelter, founded in 2005, is named after Father Ed Judy, a former director of Samaritan House Shelter, who was known as a strong advocate for the homeless.
