Quilt Donations for 2016

Firehouse Quilts had a great year in 2016 where volunteers made and donated almost 800 quilts to a variety of groups in the Denver Metro area.  During the first quarter, 93 quilts were donated to Safe House, Families First, the HRCA Sweetheart Dance and Rollin’ Dreams. A more robust second quarter effort resulted in 132 quilts donated to Shiloh House, Father Ed Judy House, Women Behind the Badge, Arvada Fire and Rescue and Child Safe.  Slightly fewer (111) were donated in the third quarter to The Children’s Hospital Burn Center, Top of the Trail (CASA), Child Safe and Castle Rock Hospital. And we finished the year with an outstanding contribution of 441 quilts to Larimer County, Evergreen Fire Department, Littleton Fire Station #19, the HRCA Halloween Dance, Forward Movement Counseling, Limb Preservation Foundation, Father Ed Judy House, Action Care Ambulance, Shiloh House, Douglas County Foster Care, Trooper Donahue’s children, Arvada Fire and Rescue, Douglas County Task Force and Child Safe.  These donations provided a grand total of 777 quilts to local charities!

In addition to quilts, volunteers with Firehouse Quilts donated 77 pillow cases, 138 stockings, 18 hats, 16 scarves, 60 bags, 31 receiving blankets, 60 burp cloths, 2 sleepers, 10 afghans, 16 baby sweaters, some onesies, socks, diapers, lotions and soaps to various charitable organizations in the Denver area.
