Mountain Resource Center Pushes Through Pandemic

The Mountain Resource Center in Conifer has helped families and children for thirty years with dignity and respect.  The clients receive health and human services assistance throughout a 1,000 square mile area in the small mountain communities.  The biggest need during the Covid pandemic was getting food to those in need.  The need went from 100 to 250 people a day needing assistance with food.  The food pantry provided food boxes that were filled by volunteers and handed out in a drive through line.   Many people who live in the Conifer area also delivered boxes to others who could not leave their homes.  The quilts that Firehouse Quilts donates to the MRC go to 0 – 8 year olds who are in a child assistance program.  There were 72 quilts donated to the Mountain Resource Center on March 29th.
