Seven Stars Foundation Receives Quilts

Jacque and Christie met Kayla on May 20 to give her 23 quilts for military children attending camp this summer.  Seven Stars Foundation is a non-profit that was formed by the families of seven marines killed when their helicopter was shot down in Iraq in 2007.  Their purpose is to make a positive impact on the children of military members, which include the fallen, wounded, active, deployed, and reservists.  Seven Stars accomplishes this mission by sponsoring children to YMCA camps across the country for a week where they can establish lasting bonds with new friends.  This summer in Colorado there are 60 children going to the YMCA camp in Deckers and 30 children going to the YMCA camp in Rye.  They love having quilts they can keep and take when their parent is transferred to a new base.
